The new game of the Call of Duty franchise, for which the majority of its fans demanded a return to the modern warfare era, was announced with the title of “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare”. Activision, which was dealing with a lot of hatred at this point, wanted to appease to the fans with an announcement of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. And now we have much more information about the highly anticipated game as the game finally met with the players with its beta version. And we, by taking advantage of this opportunity, show you the basic mechanics and the other aspectsof the new game If you want to be one step ahead of your opponents when you begin the game, this guide is just for you.
But what is the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare?
If we say that the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is a new generation action based futuristic shooter that presents us dozens if not hundreds of different equipments and characteristics with a very fast paced gameplay, well we would perhaps be giving you a lot of its features. Frankly, we have also yet to perceive how right is the decision to take a course towards the future in the name of developing a game in a free manner. You probably realized (If you are following the franchise) that in this game, which you would notice that there are many changes compared to the older titles, the level of action is even higher than before.
Let’s see those who rant “where are the old storylines?”
All of us probably missed the famous Call of Duty storylines, which featured Captain Price. Especially the Modern Warfare Series is a masterpiece by its own for the gaming world. The importance of the storylines was rediscovered with the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, in which we were immersed into the game to the level never experienced before and in which we died with those who died. Besides, the Call of Duty titles progressed to the point of Advanced Warfare through the storylines. And today, are facing a detailed and futuristic story mode with the biggest budget ever.
Indeed, seeing a huge star like Kit Harrington as the number one antagonist in a video game excited us. Our story sets in a distant future, where the humanity began spreading into the universe and the story focuses on the attack of the organization, known as the Settlement Defense Front (SDF) on the peacefully living people. Soon, we will see whether the Call of Duty 4: Infinite Warfare, which has just taken a huge risk by including the space wars to the franchise, pays for this decision or reaps the benefits.
It is even possible to fight in the space.
For the new game system, we can say that the biggest difference compared to the older CoD titles is a much larger variety of weapons, modes and equipment. Naturally, this diversity leads to the emergence of the enemy from all sides every possible way. So, you need to adopt a more careful and flexible game style ever. Especially using your equipment in an active manner in order to confuse or surprise the enemy is now the primary mechanic of the game.
I think the most intriguing part of the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare shall probably be the space fights. Although part of such space wars, fights, which we can even consider them as the backbone of the storyline, commenced with battle vehicles, another part is commenced in a way that we can describe as the skirmishes in outer space. The most interesting thing of them all is that this balance is ensured in a very curious way. The most important point that you need to pay attention during the space fights is the incoming missiles. You will remain harmless as long as you notice them as early as possible and fire the flares. Another interesting equipment that you will use is the grappling hook that you use during the space fights. By using this grappling hook, you can move in outer space swiftly and you can even make sneak attacks to your enemies.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – Zombies in Spaceland Mode
You will feel the retro atmosphere of the 80’s to your bones with the zombie mode, packed with the game. In this mode, which is quite entertaining compared to the other zombie based games, we kill zombies by different weapons with different ways. Naturally the biggest obstacle in this regard can be seen as the ammo and funds. You need to look for the crates, dispersed to the area in order to solve this and trust us, you will love what you will find.
Dominate the maps and the game modes
In addition to the classic game modes such as Team Deathmatch and Domination, we have two other modes here, the Kill Confirmed and the Defender. Each mode was prepared in a way that will require whole different tactics and equipment. The Team Deathmatch, as everybody knows, based on the total kill count. So the goal is to kill as much as you can until you die. So engaging in with the equipments that will enable you to run away when cornered would be wise. The Domination is on the other hand, is a mod, based on capturing areas thus has a slower progression. If you consider that the aim of this mode is to hold your area, playing with snipers with stealth ability and support characters that can wield stationary weapons may enable you to be a step ahead.
The kill confirmed, which is actually an old mode despite not known widely, is also included to the game. In this mode, killing your opponents is not the point, what matters is grabbing the fallen dogtags after an enemy is killed or protect the dogtag of a friendly unit after he / she is killed. This mode, which promises maps with fast pace gameplay, is up for being a fan favorite. Our advice to you in this mode is using the close range weaponry and collecting the dog tag at the very first instance. In the new game mode, Defender on the other hand, the goal is to take control of the neutral Drone and to prevent it to fall to the hands of the enemy. It seems that it will be really stressful to win the game by the points awarded as long as you control the drone.
Get to know the Mission Teams
With the new Call of Duty, the mission teams are a part of the game now. As you join the mission teams in the game, you get extra missions and as you complete the missions, you are awarded with prizes. We will take a much-detailed look at the awards, other details and the characteristics of the mission teams, which added a nice variety to the game, in the Mission Teams Guide.
Be careful of what you equip
One of the major points that distinguish the new Call of Duty from this genre is the class system. Since the game sets completely in the future, all desired technologies, weapons and character types were integrated into the game. It seems that for now, there will be 6 combat rig, meaning the character type, being the Warfighter, Merc, FTL, Stryker, Phantom and Synaptic. While the Warfighter, Merc and synaptic shall be accessible during the beta phase of the game, we will see the remaining 3 characters only in the full version. However, we can say that in general, the Warfighter resembles the old attacker unit while the Phantom reminds us the stealth version of a scout.
While the Merc is a heavily armored defense oriented unit with heavy weaponry, the FTL is a very fast, hit and run type character. The Stryker and Synaptic are characters with a support class equipped with drones and defense turrets and with a robot class with dual wielding automatic rifle, which can run on all four feet if required, respectively.
You don’t jump into the multiplayer before selecting the kill streak
Your most valuable support in this game is generally the UAV and the Counter UAV. If you chase the enemy, activating the UAV feature would be quite beneficial. If you want the enemy to come to you or if you wish to commence sudden strikes by surprising the enemy; utilizing the counter UAV would help you to prepare very nice surprises to your enemies. In addition, you need to keep the shoulder launchers and other similar equipment ready at all times so that they are kept available for your use when the tensions rise. It was also reported that there would be more than one kill streak type. You need to use such features at the best possible time and place so that the rockets, which would otherwise blow up multiple enemies, end up wasted on one enemy.
Also using some prizes for the purposes, other than their intended purpose may serve you well. For example using a missile that you would normally use for destroying the enemy for leading the enemy to you and you can take them out by surprise. Now let’s take a look at the most ambitious part of the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, the building. Actually calling this feature “building” may not be that accurate since this system offers little more than building the prototypes that you find with the parts, obtained from the weapons that you field strip.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, which offers a very large range of weapons and equipment as the result of the freedom to be within a newly established universe, definitely stands tall in this field compared to the other action games. Each weapon comes with multiple bonus features and so, they are divided into four categories being Common, Rare, Legendary and Epic. We will talk about all those bonuses and which weapon is more compatible with which bonus type in a more detailed manner in our next guide.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered?
Naturally, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered that is bundled with the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare stirred up your interest. Although I think the revisions to the game are not that sufficient, it seems that the spirit that we missed is back. Also, the addition of 10 more maps to the multiplayer mode apart from the Single Player Campaign is commendable. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, which will be loved by the fans of the old game, seems to take its place in the category of the well thought but not that well executed games.
